The Hancocks are a sweet family from my Bible Study group. I've known them for a few years now so I have gotten to see them date, get married, and have a baby. Baby Henry is hilarious. He gives these looks to you as if he is smarter than you and he is a sweet happy little baby so this photoshoot was fun.

So yesterday Will presented his dissertation on warm mix and recycled asphalt (I think!) to his committee. I got to sit in and watch...and I tried to understand what he was saying but it completely went over my head. I do know that he did great and he passed! So now he is Dr. Rogers. I'm so proud of him! He still has a lot of work ahead of him though because the day before he presented he ran another test that changed his results completely so that night he had to rewrite his presentation and now he has to rewrite his paper. But I'm thankful that things are going to get to relax a little for him and that there will be more freedom for him to look for jobs.
Will is defending his project for his phd tomorrow! Please keep him in your prayers. It will be at 8 in the morning and then hopefully we will get to enjoy a restful evening at Thanksgiving number two: Crosspoint Church Thanksgiving Fellowship. Tonight was Thanksgiving number one:
Will wasn't able to come to this one because he was working hard in the lab but no one forgot about him :)
Have I mentioned that it has been a gorgeous fall. It seems like in the past couple of years, it got too cold too quickly so the trees went very quickly from green to brown with not much color in between. But not this year. Wednesday, I went to the Botanical Gardens with Sean and Alex and it was a beautiful day. Not to mention, it was a blast because Sean and Alex are hilarious. I work with Sean and it was fun to get to know them a little better as a couple.

This past friday, David Platt did another Secret Church. The topic this time around was Family, Marriage, Sex and the Gospel. David Platt brought another great message and flew through tons of scripture and topics over a 7 hour period. It was definitely a refreshing time to be washed with the Word. However in recent conversations, I've realized that not many people seem to know that they put all of the secret church resources online. They don't have all the videos from this past one up yet (it might be another 2 or so weeks), they just have the study guide. And the nice thing is that even though secret church is 6 or 7 hours straight when its live, they have broken up the mp3s and the videos into smaller segments so you can watch them online or download them onto your ipod. I highly recommend checking it out. You can find it here at
So this isn't the best photoshoot...but things don't always go as planned and that's okay. Thursday was a beautiful day, all day long. I had lined up to do a photoshoot of one of the glink girls house roommate photos. This in itself was an accomplishment considering how different their schedules are. Then all six girls managed to coordinate outfits... another accomplishment that seemed like it was lining up for a great photoshoot. Then the clouds suddenly came in so heavily that it was like the sun set in 10 min at 5:30...the time we had scheduled to start taking pictures. I had a new flash so I didn't fully know how to use it yet so my actual pictures are fairly atrocious. However, since the next retake opportunity with these girls is most likely in december I put my photoshop skills to the test to see if I could redeem the photos. Let me know what you think.

We are the Rogers. We have been married since August and are loving it! Will recently graduated with his PhD in Civil Engineering and I am currently an IT assistant by day and a photographer by night.
