Congrats to David and Sarah who got hitched on Saturday. They were a couple who joined our church shortly after getting engaged and joined our newlywed cp group to learn from newlyweds before getting married, graduating, and moving on to jobs and their next stage of life. We enjoyed getting to know them this past semester and I look forward to seeing them grow as a couple the next few months before they move away. Here are some of the highlights of their wedding... Its hard to tell but we managed to grab our own cp group block seating at the wedding Funny story...so we were are coctail hour of the reception, hanging out waiting for the party to show up and Laura looked over and this burlap square had caught on fire by one of the chafing dishes...Kelly's maternal instincts suddenly kicked in and she started running to the fire and started fanning it (which kind of made the fire grow more). Luckily its hard to miss a pregnant lady running across the room and then stopping to wave her arms, so she grabbed Ben's attention who rushed over and poured his beer on it and put it out. My husband then retrieved the burlap square and wrapped it as a gift so we could give a group gift to the lucky couple

Congrats to David and Leslie who got married this past Saturday. I've known them for several years now and got to serve on staff with Leslie for a year so it was very exciting to finally see them tie the knot. They had a very sweet ceremony that was very gospel centered. They wrote beautiful vows to each other that proclaimed how marriage is snapshot of Christ and the church. I didn't really take pics at the ceremony because I wasn't in a great seat for taking pictures but here is a little glance at the day. The excitement on their faces all day was so sweet! One of my favorite moments of the day was when David and his mom danced to the Twist for their entire mother/son dance...it was hilarious!
Its a little weird that I have friends my age that have a one year old son already, but nevertheless it was great to be able to come to Henry's first birthday. He's got the funniest expressions, so watching him eat his first cupcake was hilarious! Not everyone from our CP group was able to come but we finally got a picture of those who were able to make it...I love that we naturally arranged ourselves by height
Have I mentioned that it has been a gorgeous fall. It seems like in the past couple of years, it got too cold too quickly so the trees went very quickly from green to brown with not much color in between. But not this year. Wednesday, I went to the Botanical Gardens with Sean and Alex and it was a beautiful day. Not to mention, it was a blast because Sean and Alex are hilarious. I work with Sean and it was fun to get to know them a little better as a couple. To see more go to: http://suzedesign.weebly.com/couples.html
So I've been bad about blogging since I've been on crutches (3+ weeks now) because we do not have internet at our house and its too much of a hassle to try to go to Starbucks. But I wanted to share about our second annual apple picking with our friends Becky and Grey. We went the first weekend I was on crutches so it was killing me but I have a wonderful husband and great friends. They had these wagons for pulling your apple buckets around, and despite all of the signs telling us that no one is to ride in the wagon, Will, Becky, and Grey took turns pulling me in it. And they took turns carrying the apples and apple donuts, climbing the trees (or in Grey's case, using my crutches to knock the apples off the tree) This week Will and I are making this fabulous apple pie. Its a pioneer woman recipe...need I say more
